Pictures!

Because the last post was all words, I thought I'd find some pictures.  Here you go!

Look at how long Collin's hair is!

Silly little guy!

Reading books!

We bought a jogging stroller.  It doesn't get used as much as it was intended to.  Collin thinks its funny to climb into the basket and then out the sides.

Collin found our strainers, and thought they were hats.

Helping Daddy put his shoes on...

Before his first "Mommy" haircut.
After the haircut.  What a handsome little man!

The rain storm that we stayed up to watch.

Cuddling my buddy.

This was today actually.  Collin and Greg and the park.
Collin thought it was pretty funny that Daddy came down head first!

So when Greg came home from work today, I noticed that we all matched.  I dressed Collin this morning, and then myself later.  I couldn't believe that Greg was wearing the same colors as well.

Lately

We need to do more stuff...  When I sit down to try to blog, I can't think of anything to blog about.  Or I only think of the boring stuff like Collin's favorite word is "No"; I'm doing awesome at staying on a budget, or I'm not awesome at exercising.  Actually let me vent about that last one.  *If you want to skip this section, I'm TOTALLY ok with that!*

I need to exercise.  Keeping this "baby" weight off is a tough thing!  I've been watching what I eat, but my weight is fluctuating like crazy!  My problem with exercising is, well, it's a couple of things.  First, my joints don't like me to do a lot of moving.  Greg says that as I keep up with an exercise my joints will get used to it, but I've had this problem nearly my whole life.  My hips pop out of socket, and I can tell you that it is very painful when they do.  Like bring me to tears painful.  Its not one bit of fun.  So the more I run (or do other joint-impacting exercises) the more often my hips pop out of socket.  Not just when running, but more often anytime of day.  Standing at the sink doing dishes; playing on the floor with Collin; it sucks.  The only exercise that I've found that doesn't do this to me is using an elliptical.  But lets face it, we don't have the money to purchase a gym membership or an elliptical machine (plus where would we put it?)  I have to make do.  I use the Wii fit sometimes, and do some videos, but I just don't enjoy those enough to keep up with them for more than a week or two.  Second, its hard to find time.  There's so much to get done during Collin's nap that I don't always have time.  And its nearly impossible when he's awake.  Well, that's about it.  Thanks for letting me vent!  And if you've got any ideas or suggestions, please feel free to let me know in a comment!

So what have we been up to?  Well Greg has been on a couple of business trips.  He went for a one day one to Kansas, and then a three day one to Texas.  For the Kansas one, Collin and I stayed at our apartment.  We went to visit grandma for part of the day, but were able to drop off and pick up Greg at the airport.  When Greg went to Texas, Collin and I went to stay with grandma and grandpa.  Collin LOVES all the space he has to play there.  So much so that taking a nap wasn't an option.  I was trying SO hard to keep to our schedule, but he was having too much fun.  He also went to bed extra late.

Greg came home from Texas on Friday and then we had a date night.  We purchased a deal online for a one night stay and dinner at the Chateaux at Silver Lake.  The dinner was super fancy, and even though it was covered in the deal we bought, we couldn't believe the final price when the waiter brought us the bill:  $92!  And that didn't include a tip!  The room was SUPER nice.  The Chateaux is located up on the mountain in Park City and the drive there was gorgeous.  We felt like rich folk, with the complimentary bath robes, jetted tub and fireplace (which we used!  It was cold!).  We had a wonderful time, and then went to eat before heading back to my parents house to get Collin.

That's pretty much it.  We let Collin stay up the other night to watch the rain/thunder storm with us.  He was a little scared, and liked to stay cuddled up to one of us.  It was so fun to watch the lightening light up the sky and hear the rain and thunder with him though.  And let's be honest, I was LOVING the cuddle time!

Collin is growing up too fast.  Every parent says it, and it's totally true.  I wrote in a post a while back that Collin won't sit through a book.  Well I'm happy to tell you, he will now.  He LOVES to read books now.  He will go sit in our rocking chair and look through books all by himself sometimes.  Reading books is how we get to sit through sacrament meeting.  How did this come about you ask?  Well, I started reading him a story or two before putting him down for his nap a month or so back (I think it was right after that post...) and it clicked.  He loved it!  He sat through it!  I love it!  It's all around a great thing.  I think it's also helping with his talking.  He says quite a few words now.  Not tons, and not super clearly, but we're getting there.

Well, that's all for now.  Hopefully we'll get out and do some more fun things soon.  Maybe the zoo...

Oreo's

We have two packages of Oreo's right now (you know, to help us loose weight...)  White double stuffed, and chocolate original.  Greg loves the white; I'm a chocolate lover (with less frosting).  Collin just loves frosting.  So today after lunch we had some cookies.

I've caught Greg making "quadruple" stuffed Oreo's by taking apart one double stuffed and putting the icing from it onto another cookie.  I poke mine with a fork and dip into milk.  Collin (as I observed today) bites one side of the cookie and then turns it around to pull it apart.  He then puts down the side of the cookie with little to no frosting, and bites the frosting off the other side.  Finally he eats the cookie part.  It's too cute to watch!  I needed to take pictures; next time.

While eating my oreo's I got thinking.  I had this friend/half roommate in college that was super skinny, and curvy.  All I remember seeing her eat was baby carrots and oreo's!  She is actually where I learned to eat my oreo's with a fork.  I can't believe that diet worked...  Maybe I should try that one!

My birthday!

Yep.  I TOTALLY missed this adventure.  When Greg showed me the pictures I even asked "WHAT!?  When was that?"  My birthday, for those of you who don't know, is in May.  We decided that we wanted to get away, so we went to St. George and stayed at a house that my aunt owned.  (They've sold it since then.)  We didn't do a whole lot.  We relaxed in the big tub.  We went to a park (forgot to take pictures.)  We went to dinner at Brick Oven.  And we went on a short hike that overlooked the city.  It was a fun, relaxing trip!

Greg's probably gonna freak that I posted this.  We LOVE that big tub!

Starting the hike.  Collin was SO excited to get out and explore!

We hiked into a little cave.

Here's the beginning of that cave.  Collin was a little nervous.

I just love this picture.  Collin telling his dad all about the hiking adventure.

For the most part Collin walked.  We wanted him to get sleepy for the ride back to Salt Lake.

We sat on a big rock that overlooked the city.  Collin loved finding and throwing the little rocks.

The view.  I LOVE how much the temple stands out.

Collin looking for rocks.

Collin eating.  I don't think this is Brick Oven, so it must have been something else while we were there.

Drinking out of the "big boy" cup!
