Already has chubby cheeks, is super sweet and a good sleeper.
At 4am, I turned over and for sure my water broke then. We called Grandma and Grandpa so they could get on their way. Then we packed a bag. When I woke Greg up, he started to research names because we hadn't found a name we loved yet. While going to the bathroom, I had the same thought, "What are we gonna name this baby?" I remembered a name I'd come across the day before while reading an article. The authors name was Bailey. I'd been liking Hailey, but a good friend of mine had a Hailey, and I just thought that might be confusing to have two. So when I stumbled on Bailey, I thought it might be in the running. After getting cleaned up, I talked to Greg. "What do you think of the name Bailey?" He gave me a look of pure shock, and said "Wait, what?" "Bailey, like Hailey but with a B" He said he had been searching names and come upon the name Baylee. He liked the name but not the spelling. Maybe this baby girl was a Bailey!
At the hospital we tried to sleep a little, but couldn't really. The epidural was the worst one I had. With Collin's it mostly numbed and I over used the extra button, but it was a rough birth. With Tate I had NO problems, it was fantastic and I didn't have to use the extra button. With Bailey the doctor seemed to have trouble placing it and it seemed to stay on my left side. At one point I was having severe pains on my right side in my hip joint. The nurse came in and discovered that it must be the contractions, so I spent most of the rest of the time on my right side, and she had me push the extra button to help the medicine get there quick. Those few contractions that I felt just in one spot were the WORST pain I have ever felt! The only thing that compares is the pain I felt with my gall bladder.
My OB came in around 11am to check on me. He sat and chatted with us for a bit, and then checked how I was doing. He said, "Oh! She's right there, ready to come." He crossed my legs. "Don't cough or sneeze or she might pop out! I'll go get the nurse." He called out the door to the nurse and then started prepping the room VERY quickly. When everything was ready, they positioned me and my doctor told me to just do a half push. And that was that. She was out! By far the easiest delivery! With her bigger head, I tore a little so recovery wasn't as easy as with Tate, but still much better than with Collin!
After meeting her, we decided she was definitely a Bailey. Now we just needed a middle name. We talked through family names, and our list of names that we had made before. One name, Alexa, stood out to me. I liked the way it sounded, but also it was a feminine version of Alexander. One of Greg's young mens' leaders told him that he needed to name a kid after him. His name is Sasha, but he said we could use the English version (Sasha is Russian) which is Alexander. For both of the boys we considered the name, but just didn't feel like it fit. So we liked Alexa even more! And thus she was named Bailey Alexa Price!
