The rest of November

Besides being sick, Arizona, and the bathroom remodel, here's what we did in November.

Tate is walking, but clumsily.  He fell into the corner of the wall.  See the goose egg above his left eye?

Collin had crazy hair day at preschool.

Collin helped set up Domino Rally!  He'd get pretty frustrated if he accidentally knocked the ones he already set up down.  But he did help and I'm sure with practice he'll get better!

Snuggles from sick Tate!

Cookies with Sunday night - movie night!

We built some awesome block towers.  This one is Grandma and Collin's.

Collin and I played with the Play-dough during Tate's nap.  He kept asking for a snowman, so built one!

This was Thanksgiving day.  I went upstairs to the bathroom for maybe 2 minutes and came back to this.  Tate has learned to open the pantry.  I guess I didn't have the Multigrain Cheerios bag closed enough and he helped himself to some cereal!

Because it was the end of the bag, he had the cereal dust ALL over himself!

Bathroom Remodel - Demolition

Our master bath tub/shower had been leaking into the floor and caused a bulge and eventually a break in the ceiling in the family room.  So we'd stopped using that, and decided to remodel it.  The bathrooms hadn't been updated, so we'd wanted to do it anyway.  Greg and my dad got started on the demolition and such in September, but really got going this month.

Fuzzy before picture.

Vanity and floor before.  Ignore all the clutter in the background...

Toilet and door.

This is what Greg did in September.  We wanted to see if we could easily see the leak.  No such luck.

Beginning of demolition in November.

Vanity gone.

The toilet ring had been leaking and made the floor boards really nasty.  First surprise that we have to fix!

Working at night with no lights.  And medicine cabinet gone.

Starting to put up new insulation.

Trip to Arizona

First, most of November we were all sick.  We got one of the worst bouts of a stomach bug this month.  Collin seemed to have it first with diarrhea.  Then Tate got that.  Then one night at 1am Greg woke up throwing up.  Then at 2am I heard Collin making funny noises, and I went to check on him.  He told me he was going to throw up we ran to the other bathroom.  At 3 am, I heard Tate making funny noises, so I went to check on him and he threw up in his bed.  So I alternated between Collin and Tate throwing up til 7am.  Greg was done around 5.  Collin slept on our floor and Tate in our bed.  It was one rough night!  Then they all felt really crappy the next day.  I got the same thing Saturday.  I'm glad I was able to stay well until they were all done.  But, MAN, I never want to do that again!

Greg and I had been toying around with doing a "baby-moon" trip.  But we had decided that it wasn't going to happen when his friend, Eric, called to beg Greg to go to Arizona to watch the Lions play the Cardinals.  We decided it would be fun if we went as couples, got Grandma and Grandpa to take the boys, and went super last minute!  We drove down Saturday.  Went to the game Sunday.  And then drove back Monday.  It was quick, but lots of fun!

While there we wanted to hit all the places we missed from our time living there.  We went to Oregano's twice, Rally's, and got Sprinkles cupcakes twice!  Yum!  It was a successful and fun trip!

Eric with his Rally's cup and Sprinkles cupcake.

We sent this one to friends from Michigan because they know just how AMAZING these fries are!

At the game!  There were a surprising number of Lions fans there.

The team coming on the field to practice

We stood on the main level to watch them warm up for a while.

View from our seats.

Go lions!

Greg and I's cupcakes that we grabbed Monday morning before heading back to Utah!

Halloween 2014

In August, we were shopping at Costco and noticed they had their Halloween costumes out.  I still had my heart set on matching costumes for the family, but hadn't decided a theme yet.  But when we saw the costumes, Collin really wanted to be Spiderman.  I walked around and around the display trying to decide what Tate could be that went along with Spiderman, but nothing worked.  Then I spotted the penguin costume.  And that sold me.  So no matching costumes this year.  Maybe next year...

Trying on our costumes.  I asked for a Spiderman pose, and this is what I got.

Tate didn't like the feet or the hat.

Then I whipped up one for baby girl!
We went with some friends, to their friends neighborhood to go trick or treating.  Collin was super excited!
Ready to go!

Snagging a quick picture before heading out.

And one of baby girl!

Tate went to the first house, but then wanted to eat the candy right away.  We decided to let him get a few here and there and then he'd snack on them.  He was happy with that.

Collin was the oldest out of our crew, so he knew how this went!

The haul!

Random things in October

Here's a bunch of random stuff we did and happened in October:

It was dress like a clown day at preschool, and this was the costume we threw together that morning.

We went on a short hike where we saw some deer.  We weren't prepared for the cold though.  It was chilly!

Collin excited about seeing the deer so close!

Tate loves playing with the kitchen.  He'll make and bring you food!

On a trip to the mall with Grandma, Collin saw these crazy things and wanted to try it out.

He rode the motorized dragon around the mall for 10 minutes courtesy Grandma!

The boys played in the laundry basket.

One of their favorite things to do was have cherry fights.  They'd pick the tiny cherries off our front tree and throw them at each other.
Collin woke up one morning with a swollen eye.  We assume it was an allergic reaction, but never did figure out exactly to what.

During one of Tate's naps, Collin and I made this fall craft with his arm and fingerprints.  We had a blast!

We played in our leaves.

This was one of about 5 piles this size.  And yes, raking all those leaves gave me contractions...

Tate loves to play in the real kitchen as well.  Especially to empty the fridge.
