Other smaller things in July

Here's a couple of small things we did in July and have pictures of:

We blew up the pool to find out the bottom ring had a hole, but we filled it up anyway and had fun swimming for a few of the hot, hot July days!

We attempted to go to Seven Peaks only to find out it was closed for an event.  Lame.  We stopped by a city pool on our way home and then got ice cream after.

We saw Planes: Fire & Rescue.  I bawled...

My friend, Tracey, invited us to go to the parade preview.  The floats were awesome, and Collin loved getting a balloon sword, and playing a few games.  I like this way better to see the floats than sit along a hot parade route!

The dinosaur roared!

Playing Plinko at one of the floats.

The New Living Planet Aquarium

We were looking for something to do and Grandma came up to see us so we decided to use our passes and check out the aquarium.  It is super close to us now, so we don't have to make a huge trip out of it.  Still not all of the exhibits were open which is frustrating when we paid so much for a membership.  Hopefully soon they will get it completed!  The boys still had tons of fun!

Collin's shoe got stuck on the rope bridge.  Took Grandma a minute to get it unstuck!

The bridge is always a highlight!

Besides the penguins and rope bridge, the giant shark and sting ray tank is a favorite.

Some July stuff

Besides our trip to San Francisco, we didn't do much in June.  We got sick for about 2 weeks, Greg went to an HR conference in Orlando and we stayed at my parents house, and Collin started soccer.  He did a skills class in April and May, and so we wanted him to use those!  He did indoor soccer at the South Jordan Rec Center.  The first couple of games, he tried and scored his first goal in the second game.  After that though he either got frustrated or bored, and started being silly or "helping his friends" (his words), instead of trying to score.

We took a camera in July so here's some action shots!

His coach (black shirt) was FANTASTIC!  He encouraged and taught but did it in a fun way!  He couldn't have had a better one!

Loves soccer!
For the 4th, we spent time with Greg's family that was in town.  We went to lunch with his brother, Jon's, family.  Then we went bowling at BYU and finished up with ice cream at the creamery.

For fireworks, we met Greg's sister Lori's family at Ford field to watch the Stadium of Fire fireworks.  We did temporary tattoos, snacks, and glow sticks while waiting.  Tate crawled over and stole a few of Collin's puffy cheetoes.  That boy can eat!

Tate enjoyed the fireworks!  The booms made him a little nervous, but the lights were fascinating!
For the 24th, we had my family and our friends, the Walters', over for dinner, games and fireworks.

Cassie and Tate waiting for fireworks

Eric getting set up.

Cute photo of the Walters', and there were big aerial fireworks going off down the street while we did ours.

These boys men take their fireworks seriously!

We had giant sparklers that Collin and True thought were pretty cool!

We had a great time!  Its so fun to spend time with family and friends!  Isn't that what holiday's are all about anyway?
