An Aquarium...Again?

You betcha! We love checking out sea life!

Plus, here in hot, hot Phoenix, you look for any activity that keeps you indoors.

Through Greg's work we could get tickets for the aquarium not only for a cheaper price, but early. That meant we could skip the line that went clear outside!!!

We attempted to go to the Sea Life Aquarium (located inside an outlet mall) before, but they were sold out. We planned ahead this time.

Now being frequent attenders of aquariums and zoos we like to think we know a good aquarium when we see one. This aquarium was...alright. A 3 out of 5 on my fun-meter. Why? Well in our discussion after the aquarium we decided that this aquarium would be better with little kids, like 5-10 years old. The path ways through the museum were direct and slightly small. With our stroller we felt like we were taking up tons of space, and Collin couldn't see from it. We ended up carrying him.

There were tons of "bubbles" that allow a small child to get in the action. I tried to crawl into them, but I felt like a giant as I couldn't fully stand up. One cool part was the walkway through the large tank. The fish could swim beside, above and under us! That was neat!

Overall it was fun Saturday trip to the aquarium. And because the aquarium is at a mall we got to finish off the trip with a warm, Mrs. Fields cookie. Yum!

A marlin is a fish

In July, we went to a Diamondbacks game. The Diamondbacks are Phoenix's professional baseball team. They haven't done very well this season, which is probably why we got a good deal on the seats we had, but they won the game we went to!

They played the Florida Marlins, which is an elongated fish with a spear-like nose. I'm always curious about mascots cause some are so NOT scary. Isn't the point of a mascot to strike fear into the hearts of your opponent?

Anyway, Collin really enjoyed himself. He loved the cheering and got plenty of attention from people around us. One lady tried to teach Collin to say "Red Sox"; good thing he can't talk yet. It was a fun time, my first professional baseball game.

Too bad Collin only has one look...CUTE!

Trip to Sedona

We got a great deal on a resort in Sedona, so we took a trip!
While there we swam...even though it felt a bit cool (you know, like 90.) We had a little bbq, and saw some local sites.

The first place we went was the Tuzigoot National Monument. It is the remnants of a village built about 700 years ago. It's built on a hill and it was really windy.














I was amazed at the construction. It must have been well built to still have remnants left!














There was one part that we got to walk through a room where a whole family might have lived.














The view was amazing! We could pretty much see the whole valley.















While driving back to the hotel, we drove through a small town and found this small diner! The fries were GREAT! So yummy!

















Then we drove out to the Cathedral Rock. It was gorgeous!
Collin loved this trip! He loves being outside!





































We went to Slide Rock Park later that day. There is a creek that runs over the red rock. Its shallow, and can be used like a water slide! Greg was the only one brave enough to slide though. Collin did sit in the cold water for a minute.
















On our way home we drove through Jerome. Its a small town built on a mountain top. Greg said it reminded him of Caracas, Venezuela. The streets wound back and forth around houses and buildings on stilts.



















The museum of the town was closed for renovation which made us pretty sad as we would have loved to known more about the town.




















Our garmin didn't know which street to take to get us out of the town, so we wound through a few times until finally trying the street it was recommending. It wasn't a street...it was ridiculous. We finally tried following signs, and that was what got us on our way back to Phoenix.

It was a fun trip. We wished we would have planned better or had more days there!
