Boating at Yuba

Totally missed this...

This is boating with Becca's family at Yuba Lake.  I touched on it in the camping post, but forgot to post this one!

While Greg was taking the car to Nephi to get the tire fixed, Collin and I hung out with my family at Yuba Lake.  It was pretty windy, so we didn't get to do much.  Mostly we just towed my brother, Dave, and his friends around on the G6 tube.

 The "beach" is mostly rocks and clay.  Collin HATED getting the clay on his shoes.  So he didn't want to walk where the beach was wet.

Dave planking on the moving G6 tube.  This tube is really fun.  It holds up to 6 people, but is hard to tip (except it can dive under in the front if there's too much weight there.  Also with the wind and not much weight on it, it can fly.

Because Collin liked the tube, we decided we could take him for a slow ride.  My dad whipped out his phone to capture the ride, and then started to drive us around the lake.  It was difficult to find the "right" speed.  At first it was too fast, and the water was splashing Collin in the face.  Then it was too slow and the front of the tube started to dive.  We went through that cycle a few times before the front of the tube actually did dive into the water.  Collin and I began to slide off.  I went into survival mode and started to prep Collin for floating on his back.  Then I heard my sister, Cassie, still on the tube say "Give me the baby!"  So whilst sliding into the water I lifted him with one arm and she pulled him back onto the tube.  My adrenaline and heart were pumping and I was done.  So they pulled us back to the boat and Collin and I rode there back to shore.  I hope that experience doesn't make him scared of riding on the water toys; guess we'll see.

Yes, the tube ride with Collin was a little scary and the flat tire wasn't fun, but other than that we had a good time at the lake.

Company Party at Lagoon

It's been years since I've been to Lagoon, so I was a little excited when the summer company party was going to be there.  Greg is on the planning committee for parties, so I got to hear all the dirty details, etc.  And I gotta say, I'm not impressed with Lagoon.  First, it is expensive.  A ticket for a toddler is only a few dollars cheaper than an adult ticket and there is significantly less for toddlers to do.  Plus, yes, Lagoon has some fun rides, but when comparing it to the rest of the countries theme parks, it is ridiculously overpriced!  And do you wanna know why?  (Cause Greg asked...) They have "a profit plan that they need to stick to in order to meet their goals".  I mean I understand; any company wants to make money.  But it just seems like Lagoon is taking advantage of the good people of Utah.

Ok, with that rant out of the way, we had a really fun time.  We slept in, and got to Lagoon around noon.  Collin was excited to ride the rides, and we got to go with him on a few.  It did rain, but that didn't really hamper our fun.  I actually kinda of enjoyed it.  HealthEquity rented a pavilion for a catered dinner from 4 to 5 pm, which was our last stop.  By that time, Collin was worn out.  He did sleep in, but not enough to go without a nap.  Overall it was a really fun day and company party.  Here's some pictures:

HOORAY!!

It's summertime, (in case you didn't know...) and that means a few things to me.  BBQ's, family time, vacations, warmer (sometimes unbearably hot) weather, and my bestest friend Tennille isn't in Florida; She's in Idaho.  Do you know how close Idaho is to Utah?  Well, its WAY closer than Florida is to Utah.  Way, way closer!  Which means I get to see her!  Tennille and her cute son, Shaefer, came down from Pocatello to visit this last week.  We were spoiled and got to see them twice!  Wednesday we took our boys to the Dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point.  It was their birthday celebration so the boys got to color a snake and make a sheriff's badge.  They loved looking at the dinosaurs.  Then we went to lunch.  We had a blast!

Friday Collin and I went up to her sister's house in Kaysville to hang out with them.  Collin hadn't been feeling great, so I wasn't sure how long he'd last.  He did pretty good, but around nap time he was ready to go home.

At the sister's house, we played with chalk and her cheap bowling set.  Then went out front to ride bikes.  Collin rode some of the toys a while, but then found a ball that popped open when you threw it.  He had fun playing with the ball until he decided to try and beat one of the bigger kids on a bike across the sidewalk.  The bike won.  The good news is though, no ouchies!  Just a sad buddy for a while.  Then we went in for lunch and then the kids played in the basement while us girls got to talk.  It was so fun!

I'm so glad we got to hang out for a couple of days.  I totally miss my friend while she is living on the east coast.  I keep telling Greg that when we make our millions, then we can go visit them, wherever they are then!  Love ya Tennille!!

Swimming at Bankhead's

It seems like this is beginning to be a tradition.  Around the 4th of July, my aunt Michelle invites all of my mom's family over for a pool party.  Collin LOVES to swim, and I really like and miss my cousins so we went!  We swam, and ate, and then swam some more.  So fun!

For my Mom's birthday we went to Brick Oven in Provo for dinner, and then went bowling at BYU.  Collin has been to the bowling alley with us many times, and I'm sure we've let him push the ball down the lane before.  But this time he got his own 10 frames!  He struggled at first that he didn't get to push the ball every time, but I explained it to him multiple times, and after about 3 frames he caught on.  He really enjoyed it.  Mostly he enjoyed the animation on the screen after the pins get knocked down.  It was a fun day!

Swimming outside & Seven Peaks

I've got a lot of stuff to get through so I'm doubling up!  In the last week of June my friend and neighbor, Katrina, texted that she was taking a bucket of water out for her little guy to play in.  Collin loves water and his friend Austin, so of course we had to go!  We'd bought a small pool a few weeks before so I took it out as well.  Katrina and I then filled some buckets in our tubs and carried them down to the pool.  While we were filling another friend stopped by with two more friends.  The kids LOVED playing in the pool.  Especially Austin, who had been afraid of swimming and even bath time before this.  I guess the enthusiasm of the others helped him out!

 We went to Seven Peaks Salt Lake towards the end of June.  Collin loves to swim.  We put him in a life vest and he paddles and kicks and has a great time!

Then just this last week when Greg's sister and her family were in town, we met them at Seven Peaks Provo.  Collin loved playing with his cousins.

Swimming outside (with friends).

Seven Peaks

A carnival.  It was in the park behind our apartments.

Go bowling.  We went with Becca's family.

Fireworks!  Not only did we watch some on the 4th, we did some with friends.

We've done a few we forgot to take pictures of as well.  We went to the Veteran's Memorial Park, the Mall playground, the library, and the Farmers Market.  We also got ice cream and built a fort.  Like I said, we're slowly getting there!
