Becca's belly is getting bigger, so we have to get ready! Only 8 weeks left until baby is (supposed to be) coming! Baby is growing and growing.....

























Becca had a baby shower to add a few new additions to our baby collection (thanks again everyone!). We have our crib, and glider, and just added this weekend: a navy blue changing table/dresser. The room was a disaster until Becca sorted everything and put it away. Now we have a better idea of what else we need. (Which still seems like so much!)

Fishing fun

In August, we decided that we needed to enjoy the great outdoors of Utah.

We decided to go fishing!!

We went to a very small, no-name fishing hole near Logan, UT.

Greg caught a stick, but no fish.

Becca hung out on the "beach" and cheered Greg on. And read.

After a few hours, baby had enough, and we had to head to the hotel to rest.

Since we didn't catch any real fish, we bought some swedish fish to eat.

It was a good weekend trip.

Recently

I'm getting so big! Just last night Greg wanted to take another picture, and after my complaining he got his way. Then when we compared those pictures with the ones we took at 5 and 6 months, HOLY COW! I felt bigger, but I just didn't realize how much bigger.

We just found out yesterday that we're having a baby boy! Here's a couple pictures from the ultrasound.

Everything looked normal to the doctor, so nothing to worry about except a name. We're so super excited!

Lake Powell 09

We went to Lake Powell July 13-19 with my family and our neighbors again this year. I love this vacation. Even pregnant it's great. I only had trouble zipping up a life jacket, riding in the boat, sleeping, and staying cool and warm. There were only 12 people there this year, which seemed so small. We swam a lot, rode the jet skis, rode water toys, played games and ate. It is such a great vacation.

Tin Foil Dinners

On Tuesday June 30, we did tin foil dinners. We LOVE tin foil dinners! I made them the Saturday before but we didn't get a chance to cook them until that Tuesday. Because Greg's family was in town we didn't want to take too long so we went to a park and cooked them in a grill. Here are some pictures of our adventure!

Catching Up

Man, its about time we posted again. It does make it hard to blog, though, when we don't have internet. Let's see...what have we done in the past four months?
Well the first thing I remember is going to California for Spring Break. I had a whole week this year! Greg had an interview near Los Angeles that week, and the company offered to fly us out for the day. But since we had the whole week we decided to make a trip out of it. (They said they'd reimburse us for some of the travel costs, but they still haven't sent us a check.) We started in LA, and then headed south to San Diego where we spent most of our vacation. We went to SeaWorld, the Zoo and the Wild Animal Park. It was a blast!
Also in April, Greg GRADUATED!! HOORAY! The day of his graduation we had a doctor's appointment to confirm that we're pregnant. It was so exciting to see that little lima bean in my belly. They even printed pictures for us. We used the pictures to tell our families at Greg's graduation. We slipped the pictures into Greg's diploma holder and then told them all to check out the "fake" diploma. It was great! It took most of them a second to realize what they were looking at. My mom cried. She's really excited.
I've been really sick, and haven't gained much weight, but am gaining a belly! Though it was just two weeks ago when anyone else could tell, it seems to get bigger every day. I am also getting less sick, but having more pains. It's just so strange to be pregnant. It's all new and somewhat exciting, somewhat scary.
This summer I decided not to work, and have been enjoying my time off. I do think Greg is very jealous though. And honestly, I would enjoy my time off more if he was off with me...
It seems we haven't "started" our summer yet. We haven't made any plans. Greg's family is in town this week for the Fourth (yes all seven siblings in one city! It's amazing!) We've been hanging out with them the past few nights because Greg works during the day, but he has the next two days off. Now we can really party!
Hopefully it won't be another six months before we blog again, but it just might be! That will be just after the baby comes! We're really so super excited!

Year in Review: 2008

We are not the most active bloggers. Also, we've done a lot of fun things that we haven't shared. So, here is our fun memories and adventures of 2008:

January: To continue the romance of a newly married couple, we took a weekend get-away to the Anniversary Inn in Salt Lake City. Photos unavailable.

April: For a make-shift spring break, we took a trip to Arizona! This was Becca's first trip to the desert state. Our highlights were visiting and staying with Greg's brother's and sister's families.

To finish off the month, we participated in a MS Walk on behalf of Greg's mom who has perserved the affliction incredibly well.

June: Greg took an internship up in Salt Lake and we moved up there for the summer! We were going to move from our apartment regardless of moving up to Salt Lake or not, so we decided to moved up there for an enjoyable summer.

Later in the month, for a weekend get-away, we stayed in a small bed and breakfast in Sterling, UT. Ever heard of Sterling?? Niether have we. The closest "big" city was Ephraim. Yeah, big city living.

July: Once again, we had the pleasure of going to Lake Powell with Becca's family and neighbors. What a great vacation to be able to lay around in the sun and water ALL week! Swim, eat, and sleep. Fun trip.

Later that month, we took a trip to Yellowstone National Park. We saw plenty of bison, moose, deer, a coyote, bald eagle, and a baby bear! This was our first camping trip together! It was real cold even though it was the middle of the summer.

October: One year anniversary! To celebrate, we took a trip to our nation's capital. Granted, DC is not the most romantic of get-aways, but it was a great learning experience.

Decemeber: To cap off the year, we spent Christmas in Michigan with some of Greg's family. We went to a Pistons game in Detroit!!! Also, played a lot of fun games, ate a lot of food, and most importantly, had a lot of quality time with family.

Year in Review: 2007

We are not the most active bloggers. Also, we've done a lot of fun things that we haven't shared. So, here is our fun memories and adventures of 2007:

January: On Christmas day 2006, Greg "broke" his ankle playing basketball with new basketball shoes that he got for x-mas. On Jan. 1st, 07 he moved cross country to Utah driving with his one good foot, the left foot.

February: We had our first date this month (that's a different story). We started seeing each other pretty much every day since our first date. Becca lived in apt. #306 and Greg in #307. How cute......




June: Our first real trip together! We spent the week in Lake Powell with Becca's family and neighbors on a house boat. Gorgeous vacation spot.

July: After vacationing with Becca's family, we vacationed with Greg's family in Michigan. Our adventures included: a trip to the Detroit Zoo and Museum, Mackinack Island, and a local lake for the 4th of July Weekend.













October: We got married! That's when the real adventure began! We "honeymooned" for three nights in the Homestead Resort in Midway, UT and the Armstrong Mansion in Salt Lake City.






December: We had a more serious type honeymoon by vacationing to Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Our trip included tickets to see the play 'Wicked' in LA and Disneyland on Christmas day! Great way to end a great year!

New Year

A few things have happened...
1st - New Year's Eve we spent party hopping! We stopped by my parents house to open Christmas presents with them. It was fun to see the fam, and watch Colbert's Christmas with them. Then we hopped up to Salt Lake to spend the rest of the night with Greg's friend Eric Walters and his wife Tina. They are party people, and we like to hang out with them. We played some games, and ate some snacks, and Greg and I kissed as the year changed.

2nd-MLK Jr. Day we both had off. We'd had a pretty lazy weeked, and so we wanted to get out and do something. We decided to see a movie. There were so many that multiple people had told us to see, but since Chandler (our nephew) had most recently recommended Valkyrie, we went to that one. We knew going into it that it probably wouldn't be a feel good movie, but left with a really depressed feeling in our stomaches. So we went home and had lunch, and then decided we needed a happier ending to our day. Off to the movies...again! This time we decided to see Yes Man. Jim Carrey is usually good for a laugh. And we did laugh, *except for this one part*. You know how people are always saying that cliche line, and then you're not sure whether the "one part" in question ruins the movie enough that you don't want to see it? Well, the "one part" in Yes Man does ruin it. Don't see it. That was the closest I've ever been to walking out of a movie. There was a couple behind us in the theatre with their 10 year-old son between them, and while I'm staring at the stairs next to me, I couldn't help but think how horrible you would, well should feel exposing such a young boy to something like that.
One things for sure, I know when we have kids, Greg and I will be more careful about what we let into the house. Not shielding them from everything, but more careful.

3rd & final thing-Greg got an internship at a company he's interested in. It's only for two months and it isn't paid, but we're doing fine so I told him to go for it! I'm hoping that the experience will be good, and will help him decide what he wants to do. He's been really stressed lately with making the decision to either find a job or go to Grad School after he graduates. I'm trying hard to be a supportive wife and friend, but don't want to make the decision for him. I think part of the problem is that either of us would be happy if the other one was happy, but niether of us are happy about making the decision that ultimately will effect the rest of our lives. Ahh! It's stressful. But we take solace in that so many have done it before and turned out as happy as ever. We'll get through.

Merry (late) Christmas!

Well, we're no good at keeping up on our blog. So New Year's Resolution = post more often!

Here we go: For Christmas this year we made a trip to Michigan to see the family. We were way excited, partially for the break from work and school, but more because we haven't seen the fam back there for over a year! Let's just say that the excitment made the four hours in the airplane at the Salt Lake terminal, beside complete stangers, that much easier. The excitment that we'd eventually get to relax and hang out with family helped when we spent the night in Eagan, MN and then flew out through Pittsburg(???) to finally end up in Detroit heading to Jon and Kristine's Tuesday at 9pm.

But all that out of the way, we had a great time! We spent the first night at Jon and Kristine's. We talked to Jon (and Katey) til 2am, and then slept in the next morning. We were thrilled the next day to play with the kids and get to know Katey better. It was surprising how quickly those kids opened up to us. The second Kristine came home from the library with them, they were sharing books with us, and "chasing" us around the room! It really was so much fun! After quiet time (which I'm totally gonna try to implement when we have kids!) we got to play with the kids and Jon. Carter made us "hot chocolate", and Rachel showed us her princesses, and Katey, well Katey was just everywhere! She is so full of personality!

That night was Dad's birthday, and so we went to the Piston's game at the Palace. We had quite a group! Jon and Kristine, Greg and I, Dad, Mike, Dave and Caleb, and Jason and Tyler. It was something that, since the moment Greg and I knew we were going to Michigan, Greg had wanted to do. It was so fun with everyone there. The Piston's played great and won! Then Greg and I went home with Dad, Mike, Dave and Caleb. When the game got out, at about 10:45pm, it was snow/raining. It was gross, and cold. We hurried to the car, which was a) from Arizona, and b) iced over. We didn't have an ice scraper, so we used credit cards and cups to scrape Dave's windows. Greg and Jon ran our bags from Jon's car to Dave's and then we were on our way! It took us an hour to go about a mile on a two lane road, from the Palace to the freeway. Because the weather was so bad, we didn't get home until about 2:30am. Then we went straight to bed.

The rest of our week in Michigan we spent playing Wii with all the nieces and nephews, doing puzzles, playing Wheel of Fortune, and Greg even took them sledding. I also got to play games with April, Dave and Caleb. We had a blast! It was so much fun to spend time with family that we don't get to see often. I guess that's part of what's so great about the holidays.

Monday morning came way too soon. It felt like we'd just arrived, and then we were leaving.

We're still enjoying the break, and I think niether of us are excited to go back to work and school, but this is Greg's last semester. We have mixed feelings about it. It's stressful to have to make a decision about what to do and where to go, but exciting to know that we're progressing, getting older, more responsible, and hopefully more mature. Hopefully :)
