Back in August, Thanksgiving Point was doing $2 Tuesdays. (I think I mentioned this in the post about Cabelas.) The second Tuesday of August though, my friend Katrinas's family was going to tour the Mrs. Cavanaugh's Chocolate Factory in North Salt Lake. She invited Collin and I to come along. Collin was excited about the new place, but got bored within 2 minutes and just wanted to run around. I tried to distract as much as possible, but there wasn't much to distract with. It was a neat, short tour and only $1 a person (but you get a coupon for $1 off any purchase you make). Even though Collin was a little out of control we had fun, learned lots, and got lots of yummy chocolates. Then, while running around the shop, Collin ran into an open office and shut the door before I could get to him. The door was locked. The lady whose office it was sighed and said, "And the keys are in there." I was mortified! Collin crawled under the desk, and the other kids with us came to watch through the office window. A few seconds later, Collin crawled out and opened the door. He didn't leave my hand after that. Then the office lady told us that it happens often. You think she would have learned to take her keys with her then!

The next Tuesday we attempted Thanksgiving Point again, but the lines were around the buildings and down the block! Most people had younger kids with them. I don't know how fast the lines were moving, but it wasn't worth it to us to wait. So we headed to the Living Planet Aquarium again.

Friday, Sept 14th Greg's best friend from Michigan got married. My parents watched Collin so Greg and I could go to the sealing and luncheon that morning. It was a beautiful wedding. We are so happy for Jon and Rachael! My parents decided that they'd bring Collin up to us after and then take us all to the State Fair. We weren't there for very long, but got to see a guy do a super high dive, all the animals, and get a fair treat.
The next day we drove up to Twin Falls, ID for Jon and Rachael's reception. We left just before Collin's nap time in hopes that he would sleep on the drive. But he didn't. Which made for a very long, and frustrating drive. We got into Twin Falls about an hour before the reception so we hung out in the hotel room, and then headed over.
The backyard was beautiful with so many fun touches, like sun glasses, a dance floor, and large tent. Collin had fun running around the dance floor with the other kids. We snacked on some yummy food and chatted with the bride and groom. Since Collin hadn't napped he got cranky pretty quick so we headed to get dinner and then back to the hotel. Greg picked up some drinks while Collin and I rode the elevator with two other couples. When we reached our floor, the couples got off and started walking towards our room. They opened the door to their room, the one next to ours, and Collin ran in! My hands were full, so I dropped stuff outside our room, and ran in after him very embarrassed. They laughed it off and said they both had kids. Collin is keeping our life unpredictable. I'm just excited for the days when I can be the embarrassment rather than embarrassed!
The drive back went much better because we left well before nap time and picked good stopping times.
