Park City Weekend

Greg has been SUPER busy at work.  There are only three people in the HR department and the other two had been gone for about a week, so he was carrying the load all by himself.  He was exhausted and needed a getaway.  We tried to plan one for two weeks, but couldn't find the right deal.  This last weekend, Greg found a great condo for a good price in Park City and since its about 10 degrees cooler there, we decided that would be the trip for us!

Here's some pictures from our summer vacation/weekend getaway:
Saturday we went to Rockport State park and lake.  Collin enjoyed throwing rocks into the lake.

We attempted to fish, but it was pretty windy.  I think we got a bite, but didn't reel in the fish.

Collin was so excited to fish.

We let him walk in the water without his swimsuit (we left them in the car at first cause it wasn't that warm), and of course he fell in!  This is him crying and telling me the story of how he fell in.

After we got his swimsuit, he would walk with me in the lake until our feet got stuck in the sand/mud muck.

Then he collected rocks.

Greg and Collin before attempting to swim in the chilly water.  When Collin's feet got stuck, he gave up and Greg was the only one who swam.

Sunday we rode the gondola up the mountain at the Canyons resort.

At the top we went a small hike and watched the mountain bikers go off some jumps.

We watched movies at the condo, went to dinner, Collin and Greg swam in the condo pool, and played in the whirlpool bath with TONS of bubbles!  Oh and Saturday night we saw Planes on the big screen!  It was a fun movie.  Collin loves to get popcorn and see movies on the "big screen".  We had a great vacation.  It was lots of fun!

Time to play catch up!

I just realized that its been a while since I blogged.  Then I thought, "Well, it's not like we've done much, so there's not much to blog about."  Then I got the camera and uploaded the pictures and realized that I've got a bunch of little things to blog about!  So sorry for the lack of posts, and for this one that will probably be long and random.

In April, Grandma and Grandpa wanted to take Collin to the zoo.  I tagged along.  I'm so glad that my parents were there.  Collin had so much energy and just wanted to go from exhibit to exhibit and I was still battling morning sickness.  If they hadn't been there, we wouldn't have had the fun day that we did!

Here's some photos:

Checking out the monkeys

The otters were our favorite!

Chatting about the elephants.

Then in May we bought a house.  Turns out Greg took some pictures on the day we painted.  Here's some of those:  (As I finish getting everything put away and organized and cleaned, I will take some more.)

The family room.  Its set up completely different now.  We brought some toys and the tv to keep Collin occupied while we cleaned and painted.

Kitchen and partial dining room

Dining room and door to deck and backyard.

Master bedroom and closet.  We painted this room.

Baby's room across the hall from the master.

Collin's room at the end of the upstairs hall.
Then in June and the beginning of July we played a lot at our new house and had some friends over.

My good friend Tennille stopped by with her two kiddos and Shaefer and Collin played really well together.  Collin talked about "good friend Shaker" for days after!

One of the games they played was Shaefer threw all the toys out of the pool and then Collin would run around gathering the toys and throwing them back in!

We had friends over and made GIANT burgers.  They were bigger than my hand and so good!

Greg and Collin play in the pool often.

Our attempt at grilled pizza.  The dough we used was too soft and didn't flip very well.  Still tasted good.

We did a movie night in the tent in the backyard.  SO FUN!

The TV set up
We filled it with the air mattress, blankets and pillows

Collin wanted to be like Mom and put a ball in his shirt.

Some other things we've done, but don't have pictures (or they're on our phones...") are Seven Peaks, Springville splash pad, get snow cones, see Turbo on the big screen, see Croods at the dollar theater, the Nicklecade, and Greg's brother and sister were in town for the 4th!  We went to Seven Peaks with them, and PG pool.  We also had them all over for pizza and chatting.  It was so fun to see them and Collin loved all the playmates!  Oh and we did a ton of yard work!  We've weeded the front flower bed about three times this summer and finally it looks decent.  Granted, now I find a large spider in the house almost daily.  I hate spiders.  Seriously.  And these are big buggers!  Usually about the size of a quarter.  So creepy...

Only 8 weeks til baby is due to come.  We've got a lot to do still (including find a name...) but we are excited to meet this little guy!  He is a big little guy.  Dr. says he'll probably be 8-8.5 lbs if we make it to the due date.  I also have a lot of amniotic fluid, so I'm quite large.  But I have been feeling pretty good, a few contractions and lots of tossing and turning at night, but otherwise good!
